the WOOD STONE OVENFor thousands of years stone hearth ovens have been used worldwide, being made of readily available materials such as clay, stone or bricks. Our reasoning to use a hearth oven is because of the flavor associated with cooking on stone as well as the wood that we are using to heat the oven. We chose to use a product that is reliable and built locally here in the Northwest.
Wood Stone has created a dome shaped hearth oven for us that can both be highly productive as well as visually appealing to our guests. Unlike many other hearth ovens out there, Wood Stone's cooking surface is crafted with one single piece of high temperature, high quality ceramic. One single piece gives a more consistent bake for a longer duration as there is no gaps between material to express heat loss. As for the outside design of our oven, we turned to Rick Skalak to create a mosaic piece that would be visually appealing as well as artistic. His design gives recognition to the fundamental elements of our pizza's and the great VanGogh's Starry Night painting. |
