the Canning Line

BREWING EQUIPMENT

WBC’s Brewery Production Area encompasses approximately 21,000 square feet with a capacity to brew 50,000 – 70,000 barrels per year and includes the following:

  • A Production Brewhouse
  • 2 Fermentation Tanks
  • A Bright Beer Cellar
  • A Canning Line
  • A Kegging Line
  • A Cold Packaged Beer Storage Area
  • A Pilot Brewhouse

BREWING and CANNING CAPACITY

With the above equipment installed and operating on “opening day,” WBC can produce 45,000 to 50,000 barrels per year without any major upgrades. To increase production, WBC will need to upgrade the grain-out system, add fermentation tanks and upgrade to a keg cleaner/filler.
The size of the facility and capacity of the equipment is driven by our longer term goals of what we think we can achieve in terms of sales and thus, production. A cost benefit analysis was undertaken that considers the advantages and risks of building for our immediate needs versus building for the future. The size and scope of WBC's facility was designed based on projections of approximately 50,000 bbls per year, which would qualify WBC as a “regional production brewery.”

WBC will have the capacity to brew 8 batches a day (without considering maintenance, shutdowns and other mechanical and flow complications). This equates to a maximum of 240 barrels per day. On a daily basis, with the above equipment, WBC will be able to brew 800 bbls a month.

In a standard 8-hour work day, with set up and clean down time, we will be able to can 3,000 cans per hour, or 18,000 cans per day. To be safe, WBC’s target speed would be about 14,400 cans per day (80% of max capacity).
