One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest for Oregon’s Official Movie?

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest holds a special place in the story of Worthy Brewing, and now – thanks to a resolution in the Oregon legislature – it has a chance to become Oregon’s official movie! Here’s an excerpt from a March 23, 2023 article from OregonLive/The Oregonian:

What should Oregon’s official movie be? It’s a point that came up recently with House Resolution 14, introduced in the Oregon legislature, calling for the 1975 movie, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” to be designated the state’s official film.

As a summary of the resolution says, “the film was shot almost entirely on location at the Oregon State Hospital in Salem,” and that a fishing scene showcased “the coastal charms of Oregon’s Depoe Bay.” The movie was also adapted from a novel by “dyed-in-the-wool Oregonian Ken Kesey.”
